Cravings for the "Risk Zone"

Well...I guess I'm doing that right now.  I'm at work and not supposed to be writing a blog, but I decided that now is so very necessary for my sanity.  My brain feels like it has a noose around it and could lose oxygen at any time from the redudant work tasks.

So here I am.  Writing about risks.

I have never been much of a risk taker, although I guess people would say differently.  But to my expectations I don't agree.  I'm 30 and in a place where I only want to do things that are fun and make me happy.  So how do I make that happen on a daily basis?  I want to get more familiar with living outside my comfort zone.  I get too complacent in comfort zones and it's not a fun zone at all.  It shouldn't even be qualified as a "zone".  Zones are cool and all 'sciencey'.  I mean everybody wants to be in a "Twighlight Zone" right?  Not a "comfort zone".

I find it interesting how you meet people that just take risks period.  They don't live or know any other way.  My husband is like that.  He just finished his first children's book and we're road tripping this summer to sell it.  My friend Marius is like that.  He leaves on a cruise ship in two days to Barcelona while he wails on his trombone for 2.5 months.  He'll leave the Florida heat for Mediterranean beauty and daily buffets.

Yea, sure, I've done stuff.  I did move 1500 miles away from my hometown, I don't really work traditional jobs and I am a musician part-time.  But I really want more.  I want to feel good everyday.  When you have achy joints at young age, I often wonder if these achy joints are a product of me playing it safe.  Is my soul trying to get my attention?  Or am I just thinking too hard?

I want to find a way to live outside the comfort zone and not be attachd to the outcome.  A challenge I must endure.

Fit and Trim for $8.99/Month with Netflix

So this morning I woke up around 3am (that's been happening to me lately), and a cool idea came into my head.  Could I  actually get fit and trim with Netflix instant workout movies?  So I turned on my little "ROKU" box, (contraption connected to netflix found on amazon) and sure enough, there were tons of different workout programs available for instant download!  From Denise Austin to Carmen Electra.

I get so sick and tired of the same old workouts at my gym.  They have no classes and who in there right mind can stand doing only workouts on a treadmill or eliptical?  Boring.  Granted, I only pay $10.70/month for the membership, but with Netflix I pay just $8.99/month!  Every bit of savings counts right?  I could buy myself a small coffee for that.

I'm feeling a little jelly around the belly and know it's time to get with it.  So I'm going to report my progress and see how fit and trim I can get with Netflix instant workouts within 90 days.  I'll even post before, progress and after pictures.  I'm starting Easter morning 4/24/11.  See you then.

Here are my before pictures 4/24/11-Decided not to weigh myself, just go by the way I feel.  My goal is for strength energy and endurance.  The after pictures will speak for themselves.
